Actual delivery charges in the UK mainland are detailed at checkout. Our typical charges are;
- Up to 100g - £1.00
- Up to 300g - £2.99
- 300g to 5kg - £5.99
- 5kg to 20kg - £7.99
Delivery is FREE for orders over £100.00 being sent to the same address.
Great English Wines accept orders for deliveries to anywhere in mainland UK. Delivery to the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, and certain parts of the Scottish Highlands or UK offshore territories are subject to additional delivery charges. Please note deliveries off the UK mainland are not insured. Please contact our customer services department for further details.
Typically deliveries will arrive within 2 to 3 working days. Every effort will be made to deliver the order to the address specified by yourselves within 10 working days of acknowledgment of receipt of your cleared payment and in any event within 30 days of your order. However, Great English Wines shall not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered through any reasonable or unavoidable delay in delivery.
Deliveries are made Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm by a recognised UK courier of our choice.
Great English Wines does not offer delivery on weekends or on UK national holidays.The carrier may ask you to sign a ‘proof of delivery’ sheet or electronic notepad. If there is any obvious damage to the content of the package, it must be noted on the delivery record.
All goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over. If no one of that age is at the address when the delivery is attempted the goods may be retained by the driver, in which case the driver will leave notification of attempted, delivery and a telephone number for you to rearrange delivery.
If you provide special delivery instructions for Great English Wines to leave the wine outside your house or at a neighbour’s house it will be left at your risk.
Great English Wines must have confirmation of any breakages or shortages within 7 days of delivery by email. If bottles are broken or damaged in transit, Great English Wines will provide you a refund for the damaged wines upon receipt of a photograph of the damaged delivery. Please note deliveries off the UK mainland are not insured and excluded from this policy.
If there is no-one at home when the carrier attempts to deliver your wine or goods, the carrier may leave a card explaining they have called and they will re-attempt to deliver the wine or goods the following day. If the parcel is not delivered on the second attempt, then another calling card may be left explaining the carrier has attempted a second delivery and the parcel may need to be collected from the carrier’s depot.
Great English Wines is happy to attempt delivery to many countries around the world. However, courier restrictions mean we can currently only ship single bottle items, and shipping of wine internationally often incurs a very high cost.
When available, costs are notified at checkout, otherwise please contact us for a quotation specifying the required bottle and the destination you would like it shipped to.
ParcelForce is our courier of choice for international shipments, typically using the Global Priority service depending on location. Details of these services can be found at www.parcelforce.com.
Great English Wines accept no responsibility for goods once they
have left the United Kingdom. Any charges incurred by authorities in the
country of destination are the customer’s responsibility. Great English Wines will not be responsible for any goods lost, stolen or broken in transit from the point of dispatch as the carriers will not insure the parcel.
In all other respects terms and conditions shall be the same as the UK.
